Community Centre Support Service
The Community Centre Support Service, commissioned by Hull City Council provides an independent service to support organisations in achieving the preVISIBLE quality standard.
Pre Visible has been developed by Community Matters and is endorsed by The Charity Commission
In July 2011 Hull CVS created a webpage dedicated to community centres. As members and supporters of the Community Centre Support Service, your opinions are very important to us and we have created an online survey which we hope will help us to gather valuable feedback – feedback that will help shape the future of support to community centres across the city.
Please complete our online survey
Hull CVS employs a Community Centre Support Worker to support and advise Local Authority funded community centres in becoming more sustainable and to meet the needs of their local communities.
We work in several ways
Webpage – dedicated to community centres providing information advice and guidance and matters concerning community centre operation, management and signposting.
Centre News – a monthly newsletter dedicated to community centres, providing a wealth of local information, advice and support.
Centre News is available in hard copy and electronically; if you would like to register to receive the newsletter please email: jrobinson@hull-cvs.co.uk
Missed a copy of Centre News? In our News Archive you can find copies of all previous editions on the newsletters. View the News Archive and click on the date of the issue that you would like to read.
Additional support and advice through Hull CVS E-newsletters providing regular electronic updates detailing upcoming News, Events and Training; Governance and Funding; and Volunteering. If you would like to subscribe to the E-news please email jrobinson@hull-cvs.co.uk
Healthchecks
Specialist Training Programme featuring a range of courses to meet the needs of local VCS groups. The courses cover a variety of topics including funding, running your charity or group, managing staff and volunteers and creating and developing a website. All of the courses are provided at competitive rates, many are free to attend.
Please note: where there is a charge for courses we have a special scheme for community centres; each year, Local Authority funded community centre can access the equivalent of three days training free of charge. This is an ideal opportunity for Committee Members and Volunteers to increase their skills as they move towards pre Visible.
A list of all courses in the current Training Programme including details on how to book a place on any of the courses can be downloaded from the training section of the website at: http://hullcvs.co.uk/training/
