The ONE HULL Business Forum has recently launched a new Connect website which can be viewed here (www.hbfconnect.com).

This website aims to bring together business partners and the voluntary and community sector. This could be through recruiting Trustees or Board members, acting as an informal advisor for project development or advice on becoming a trading partner.

What Is Planning Aid? - 16/03/2010

Planning Aid offers people the opportunity to get involved in the development of their local areas. We provide free and independent professional planning advice to community groups and individuals who cannot afford to pay professional fees.

We work with communities to help them understand and play a role in the planning process. We are an independent source of advice and information on planning issues, not part of central or local government.

Participants Sought for Empowerment Roundtable to be held in Leeds on 30th March - 16/03/2010

The aim of this forumis to bring together people who work and volunteer in the voluntary and community sector (VCS) to share what makes successful empowerment practice and to examine new and creative ways of enabling people to participate in decision making.

The Regional Forum is seeking 12 participants who can bring direct experience and knowledge of empowerment practice within the VCS. The roundtable will take the form of a facilitated session, designed to ensure each participant can fully participate and contribute.

National Family Week (31st May - 6th June) - 15/03/2010

National Family Week aims to highlight the important role families play in society and encourage healthy active lifestyles and quality family time. Now in its second year, National Family Week is the largest coalition on family issues and is backed by all major political parties and a huge range of national charities, community groups and sporting associations.

Over 5,000 events will take place during National Family Week 2010 (31st May – 6th June) plus record breaking excitement, giveaways, competitions and activity ideas to encourage families to spend quality time together.
