Arts from the Hearts – Library Riddle Trail
A new, exciting and interactive project has been launched through Hull Libraries as part of Arts from the Heart.
The Riddle Trail which is already up and running at Hull’s Central Library and will be coming to Ings and Greenwood libraries from Tuesday 14 February, is a fun and free treasure hunt with the focus on the heart. The trail consists of 20 riddles and puzzles, with each clue leading to a hidden letter in locations around the library, collect all the letters in the right order and a secret message will be revealed.
The Riddle trail is just part of Arts from the Heart- a mass participation arts project taking the importance of good heart health out to as many people in Hull as possible, with venues such as shopping centres, libraries, sports venues, schools and community centres. At each venue, Artlink will be providing free tailor made workshops designed for their group or venue users based on in either visual arts or creative writing.
One young code breaker who had a go of the trail was Isabel aged six. She said: “I went on the trail with my Dad and sisters, it was really fun! I didn’t know the library was so big! I got really tired legs exploring it all.”
Dave Taylor, Isabel’s dad, said: “The Riddle Trail really made me think about being active and also about using the library to find information on leading a healthier lifestyle. It also was a great activity for us to have fun as a family and it was free as well!”
Arts from the Heart is part of Hearty Lives Hull, the British Heart Foundation’s £1.5 million heart health programme in partnership with NHS Hull and Hull City Council.
Entry forms are available from the specially designed Arts from the Heart Display Units at Hull Central Library until 29 February and also at Ings and Greenwood Libraries between Tuesday 14 February and 27 February with a prize draw at each library for the winning entry.
