Volunteer Centre Hull led a cross-sector working group on the development of one of England’s first citywide volunteering strategies.

Volunteering Hull: a strategy for the future of volunteering was launched in June 2007. It is a framework of support for individual volunteers and groups working with volunteers in Hull. The strategy focuses on crucial areas for the future success of volunteering in Hull:

  • Promoting, recruitment and retention of volunteers.
  • Training for volunteering
  • Employee volunteering
  • Assessing the impact of volunteering

Throughout the strategy there is a strong emphasis on ensuring diversity in volunteering.

Volunteer Centre Hull is now leading on the implementation of the strategy in Hull. A series of working groups focusing on the above four strands of the strategy are meeting regularly and developing action plans to implement the strategy.

If you are interested in getting involved in the implementation of the strategy please contact the Volunteer Centre Manager on (01482) 324474 or email vc@hull-cvs.co.uk
